This is the process by which you reserve and register your Web site name for Internet use. We bring this up very early in the tour because if you haven't yet done so, you should immediately register the name you want to use for your Web site.  Web site names are registered by the thousands every day.  This is one of the first things we bring up when people come to us for hosting.  Not to scare them, but rather to act as a responsible and courteous hosting company.

A domain name is the text immediately following the www. in a Web site address.  For example, in www.yourweb.com,  yourweb.com is the domain name.  Naturally, when someone wants to visit your site, they'll type www.yourweb.com in their Web browser and they will automatically be routed to your hosted Web site.
